Bio
David holds a Ph.D. in strategic management and entrepreneurship from the University of Central Florida, an M.B.A. and an M.S. degree from the University of Massachusetts, and a B.A. in economics and management studies from St. Olaf College.
His conceptual and empirical research focuses on the role of business in society, where he builds on various conceptual frameworks, including Doughnut Economics, institutional theory, resource-based theory, stakeholder theory, and moral philosophy, to study how firms invest in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). David's main focus in his research, teaching, and service is on helping managers understand how to efficiently use their firms' resources in CSR portfolios and impact social and environmental issues in ways that are meaningful and economically sustainable. He hopes that his work contributes to an enlightened and sustainable way to understand business and its role in society.
