Bio

I am a Professor of Information Systems at Virginia Commonwealth University and Research Fellow of the Information Systems Research Institute since Fall 1998. Previously I was Professor of Information Systems and Decision Analysis in the School of Business at Howard University, Washington, DC, U.S.A. I have also worked as an Information Systems practitioner in both industry and government. I do research in various areas including: Analytics & Data Science, Data Mining, Cyber-Security, Knowledge Management, ICT for Development, Expert & Decision Support Systems, ICT & Productivity, and Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis. My teaching areas include: Data Mining, Data Warehousing, Database Systems, & Knowledge Management. My papers have been published in various journals including: Decision Support Systems, Expert Systems with Applications, Information Systems Journal, European Journal of Information Systems, Information Systems Frontiers, Information Technology for Development, Journal of the Association for Information Systems, Knowledge Management Research & Practice, Computers & Operations Research, European Journal of Operational Research, Journal of the Operational Research Society, Journal of Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis. Currently I serve as an Associate Editor of the Journal of Information Technology for Development, and the INFORMS Journal on Computing, as a Coordinating Editor of Information Systems Frontiers journal. I also serve on the Editorial Board of the Computers & Operations Research journal, and the International Advisory Board of the Journal of the Operational Research Society.
