Bio

Katybeth Lee is an educational leader with over 20 years of dedicated experience in student success and corporate engagement. As the Assistant Dean at Virginia Commonwealth University's School of Business, she has consistently driven initiatives that prioritize the academic and career success of students. Katybeth is passionate about developing innovative programs that integrate professional development into the student journey, helping them achieve significant outcomes such as raising graduate employment rates from 52% to 91% in just three years.

Her expertise in corporate engagement has been instrumental in strengthening the relationship between higher education and industry. Katybeth spearheaded the creation of VCU's Employer Partnership Program, which deepened connections with key corporate partners and generated over $250,000 in support for the university. Her ability to cultivate these partnerships has provided students with valuable career opportunities and enhanced their professional readiness.

Katybeth is also an accomplished educator, designing and teaching career development courses that reach more than 800 students annually in both traditional and hybrid formats. Her research on career search self-efficacy has been accepted for publication in peer-reviewed and practitioner focused journals, further contributing to her commitment to student success. With a Ph.D. in Public Policy and Administration from VCU, an M.A. in Higher Education and Student Affairs from The Ohio State University, and a B.A. from The College of William & Mary, she combines academic rigor with a deep understanding of student and employer needs.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Katybeth is an active community leader, serving on multiple boards and leading initiatives that promote educational and career development. Her contributions to both the university and the community underscore her commitment to fostering environments where students and professionals can thrive.
