Bio
I have been teaching managerial accounting to undergraduate students, to MBAs, Executive MBAs, and PhD students both online as well as face-to-face.
My research focuses on managerial accounting and specifically on the effect of incentives and control systems on effort and performance for simple or creative tasks. In my research, I use primarily an experimental economics approach, which means I examine participant behavior in laboratory settings.
I am from Karlsruhe, Germany. I have a German equivalent to a masters degree from the University of Mannheim, an MBA from the Western Illinois University, and a PhD from the University of Texas in Austin. I passed the CPA Exam in Illinois. Before academia I work for KPMG in Germany and before that I served in the German armed forces.
